Science:
This week we will be continuing to work on our erosion poster by checking our PQR2ST+ note cards with another student and then we will be ready to get to work on our team posters. Students will have two to three days to complete the poster as a team to showcase to their classmates. At the end of the week students will be taking an erosion quiz based on the section that they completed their PQR2ST+ notes over for the poster. For example, if the student completed PQR2ST+ notes over water erosion then that is the content that will be on his/her quiz. We will then be ready to begin our next unit near the end of the week: an exploration of rocks, minerals, and the rock cycle.
Homeroom:
Don't forget students that if you do not want your lifetouch pictures you must return them so you are not charged. Also gold sheets explaining the requirements to attend Silver Dollar City as well as requests to be a chaperone went home today and will be due back Friday March 29th. Also 3rd quarter grade cards went out today and need to be returned by Monday March 25th.

Tuesday: We began to work on our final copy of our Erosion posters. The students had the entire hour to work with their teammates and will have the entire hour to work tomorrow as well. As always the rubric is their best friend for this project. The posters will be due at the end of class Wednesday March 20th.
Wednesday: Today we worked on finishing up our posters and it became clear that we needed 10-15 more minutes tomorrow in class to wrap everything up and turn in good quality posters. The students will finish their posters and then after a brief review and a gallery tour walkaround we will be completing our quiz over erosion. Remember, if your student completed his/her PQR2ST+ notes over water erosion then that is the content that will be on his/her quiz and so on.
Thursday: We wrapped up our posters today and then completed a classroom "gallery tour" to allow students to show off their work to their classmates. We then took our quiz over erosion, and because they have worked so hard I allowed them to use their notes that they took on the quiz. Tomorrow we will be starting our next unit; rocks, minerals, and the rock cycle.
Friday: We caught up on some assessment graphing today and gave back our last test over Weathering Erosion, and Soil, which must be signed and returned by Monday March 25th. We then completed a pretest over Rocks, Minerals, and the Rock Cycle to see what students already know about the subject. We will be keeping these tests and comparing them to our end-of-unit tests to see our growth!
