Monday April 8th

The Plan:

Science:

Students will be continuing their study of rocks and minerals by wrapping up 2.4 “Sedimentary Rocks” on Monday and then we will move on to 2.3 “Igneous Rocks” where we will be participating in a lab making ‘igneous peppermint brittle’. Please be looking for more information on this lab soon. We will be wrapping up the week with our usual weekly quiz on Thursday April 11th.

Homeroom:
This week students were given their Silver Dollar City money forms which are due back by Friday, April 19th. Thanks for all your support with this field trip!

What is Happening:
Monday: We started off the day by getting back our quizzes we took last Friday and graphing them in our composition notebooks. We then checked our notes packet pages 6-7 against my "answer key" and completed a lab over how to create conglomerate and sandstone (sedimentary rocks). Any work in their notes packet on page 8 for the lab that they did not finish in class I let them know needs to be done before class tomorrow. I also passed out "Edible Lab Permission Slips" from the district office that must be turned in by Wednesday, April 10th so they may participate in the making of Igneous Peppermint Brittle on Thursday April 11th.
