Friday January 24th

The Plan:
Science:


 We will continue our Unit Weathering and Soil by doing the following:

  • Explaining how soil can lose its value for humans and other organisms.
  • Identifying and describing methods of soil conservation.
  •  Describing the processes that wear down and build up Earth’s surface.
  •  Identifying the causes of the different types of mass movement.

Homeroom: Nothing

What is Happening:

Monday: No School


Tuesday:Today we:
  • Completed an experiment showing students the various layers of soil and how they form.
  • We will finish the lab tomorrow with a class discussion so we are prepared for a new section on Thursday!

Wednesday: Today we:
  • Digested what happened in lab yesterday to make sure that we were effective with our learning.
  • Completed an exit ticket showing what we knew!

Thursday:Today we:
  • Moved on to soil conservation by completing PQR2ST+ notes over 2.3.
  • Completed our Important Words List so we could begin to recognize vocabulary for our activity tomorrow.


Friday: Today we:
  • Began a soil conservation activity by placing ourselves in the shoes of a farmer who needed a loan to fix different areas of his property. We laid out plans for each area and took our proposals to the banker and will be finishing on Monday.
