Science:
We will conclude our unit Weathering and Soil by doing the following:
- Describing the processes that wear down and build up Earth’s surface.
- Identifying the causes of the different types of mass movement.
TEST DATE CHANGE: The test has been pushed back until Tuesday, February 4th. (Students received the study guide Friday the 17th.)

Monday: Today we:
- Completed the second day of our soil exploration lab pretending to be farmers who need to fix areas of soil erosion on our farm.
- Proposal forms (grids) for the application piece tomorrow need to be completed tonight if students have not already done so. Almost all students finished in class.
Tuesday:Today we:
- Completed the final day of our soil exploration lab pretending to be farmers who need to fix areas of soil erosion on our farm.
- Mass Movement (3.1) will begin tomorrow with some vocabulary work and class discussion.
Wednesday: Today we:
- Looked at the four different types of mass movement and how they work complete with YouTube clips for a more realistic understanding of how the mass movements work.
- Completed our notes in class and students have 5 vocabulary words to finish from the section if they did not finish them in class.
Thursday: Today we:
- Began working on an erosion poster project displaying the four major agents of erosion (ice, wind, water, and waves).
- We divided into our teams and split up the erosion agents. We worked for 30 minutes today on a notetaking activity.
- We will compare our notes to others with the same agent tomorrow before starting our poster.
Friday: Today we:
- Got into our erosion groups and compared our notes over our sections and then checked them against an answer key.
- Took our notes and shortened them to the 3-4 most important points to put on our poster.
- Began looking at how to layout our poster which will be completed by the end of class Monday February 3rd.
