Wednesday February 12th

The Plan:
Science: 

We will start our Fossil Unit by doing the following:

  • Explain how fossils form.
  • Identify the different kinds of fossils
  • Describe what fossils tell about organisms and environments of the past.

What is Happening:

Monday: Today we:
  • Completed our exam over weathering, erosion, and soil. Students worked so hard today! Thanks for all your hard work!
  • Set up our new learning for tomorrow when we will explore fossils and Paleontology as a career by watching a video on how to excavate fossils and then giving it a try.

Tuesday: Today we:
  • Looked at the job of a Paleontologist and completed "The Great Fossil Find" activity for the experience of excavation.

Wednesday: Today we:
  • Completed "The Great Fossil Find" activity for the experience of excavation and had a class discussion to process the activity.
  • Set up our notes for 4.1 Fossils (pages 104-108 only) and started our important words list (due Tuesday the 18th).
