Science:
We will conclude our Measurement Unit by doing the
following:
- Convert between units of measure in both the US Customary and Metric systems.
- Calculate geometric measurements: perimeter/area; surface area; and volume of prisms.
- Calculate elapsed time.
Advance Planning: The Measurement test will be
given Thursday March 27th. A study guide will be sent
home on March 18th.
Homeroom: None
Monday: Today we:
- Completed a review of calculating the area of various polygons and began to touch on perimeter.
- We will finish area and perimeter tomorrow and move to surface area!
Tuesday:Today we:
- finished area and perimeter with a review on trapezoids and triangles
- Surface area involving cylinders. rectangular prisms, and cubes was discussed and practiced. This will be finished tomorrow using word problems to apply surface area to our everyday lives.
Wednesday: Today we (1st and 2nd):
- Worked more on surface area looking specifically rectangular prisms and how to unfold them into 2D nets to calculate their surface area.
- Today we (6th and 7th):
- Worked on elapsed time and how to calculate the length of activities using analog clocks.

Friday: Today we:
- Took a day to work on our study guide and practice skills we've learned so far this unit.
- had the counselor come to our room
