Science:
We will finish our Weather Unit by doing the following:
- Identify the 4 common types of storms and how to stay safe in each.
- Analyze a weather map to understand how all elements of weather contribute to predicting the next weeks’ weather.
- The Climate and Weather test is scheduled for Friday May 16th.
Homeroom: Field Trip forms for the MSU trip due no latter than Friday the 16th!
Monday: Today we:
- Completed our paragraph attack notes over 4.5 "Storms" and then started working on our Storms Survival Foldable. Students had the entire hour to work.
Tuesday:Today we:
- Completed our Storms Survival Foldable over the first 30 minutes of class before having a group discussion over the section. Students then had the opportunity to work on Brainpop watching videos over thunderstorms, hurricanes, or tornadoes (student choice).
Wednesday: Today we:
- Discussed and read 4.6 "Predicting the Weather" together
- Completed our notes with a partner. Any notes not finished were finished during flex time.
Thursday:Today we:
- Had Lindsey Day, a local meteorologist with KOLR10, come and visit with the kids and talk about what it's like to be a meteorologist.
- Completed a partner activity where students analyzed a weather map and answered questions.
