Science: This week we will be looking at all of the district, school, and classroom rules and expectations for the students. Many forms will be coming home including district packets and a syllabus, so be on the lookout for those!
Math: This week we will be looking at all of the district, school, and classroom rules and expectations for the students. After Wednesday we will be jumping into CANVAS online student training, getting our Glencoe write-in textbooks, and then looking at Chapter 1 Lesson 1 "Factors and Multiples".

Monday: Summer
- Science: N/A

Tuesday:
- Science: Today we completed a Student Information Sheet, made name-tags, and looked at how to read our schedules and open our lockers. We then set up our accordion file folders and went over all the safety drills for the classroom.
- Math: Today we distributed the district forms packet and then went through the WC and SPS handbooks using a Jigsaw (split group) technique.
Wednesday:
- Science: Today we completed team-building games along with the Lions Team that focused on how to work together to accomplish our goals and build teamwork, communication, and grit.
- Math: Today we studied the idea of what it means to be an effective student. After meeting as a team and brainstorming ideas, we then worked with a partner to create a poster with examples of actions an effective student in sixth grade will take to learn.
Thursday:
- Science: Today we went over classroom expectations and how the first day of actual classes would look like. We then completed a "Looks Like, Sounds Like" activity to look at how these expectations should be carried out.
- Math: Today we received our books and then learned how to log into CANVAS so that we would be ready to take our beginning of the year testing. We also looked at our first chapter and then filled out a chart to see how much we already know about the first chapter.
