Science:
This week we will be setting up our Science Notebooks and going over the expectations for the notebooks, learning and practicing lab safety, and starting our first lab (“Who Stole the Apple Pie?”)
Math:
We have been learning class procedures and becoming familiar with Canvas and our textbook in the first week of school. This week in Math we are beginning Chapter 1 on Ratios and Proportional Relationships. We will also be taking the iReady test in the computer lab. This standardized assessment will give feedback on student performance.
Homeroom: Please don't forget to return any forms that have not been turned in yet.
Monday: Summer
- Science: Today we evaluated past Science notebooks to get an understanding of the expectations the notebooks carry. We talked about the features that make a notebook, "Above Average", "Average", and "Below Average". Students did a fantastic job!
- Math: Today we finished looking at MP3 "Perseverance and Problem Solving" and then played FMRayDO which helped us to work on finding multiples of different numbers.
Tuesday:
- Science: Today we played a game where students had to identify lab rules broken in different situations. We then went over the lab safety rules for class and are bringing home lab safety contracts to be signed and returned tomorrow.
- Math: Today we finished page 6 "Are You Ready?" and then began talking about the greatest common factor and how to find it when given several numbers.
