Monday April 29th

The Plan:

Science:
This week we will be starting a short exploration of fossils. We will begin by exploring what a fossil is and what the different types of fossils are. We will be taking a look at how scientists use fossils to date time periods as well as piece together our past. Towards the end of the week we will be looking at completing our own excavation with help from the expert archeologists at the La Brea Tar Pits in California.

Homeroom:
MAP is this week so please make sure everyone gets plenty of rest!

What is Happening:

Monday: We received our tests back today (with a team average of an 81%) and students graphed them. Please sign and return your student's test by Wednesday May 1st. After we talked about our tests I gave back the students' notes, vocabulary, and crayon rock cycle packets and allowed students to correct (or finish) the work and resubmit it. We then went outside and celebrated our test succcess until the end of class.
