Science:
This week students will be:
- Completing a foldable to visually prepare a cross section of Earth so we can study its layers.
- Discussing Alfred Wegener and his theory of Plate Tectonics and how Earth’s plates move.
- Quiz on Friday the 18th over Earth’s Layers (1.2) and their properties.
Monday: Today we:
- Checked our PQR2ST+ notes with each other and against my notes to be through.
- Started a foldable allowing us to study Earth's layers and their many parts which should be finished before class tomorrow (should take 5-10 minutes as they had 50 minutes in class).
- Finished a set of questions over our foldable through question number 6.
- Started to talk about convection currents and how they work in the mantle (1.3).
Thursday: Today we:
- Finished completely our foldable questions over Earth's Layers.
- Reviewed for our quiz the 18th by watching the Brainpop "Earth's Structure" and taking the quiz at the end.
- Reviewed Conduction, Convection, and Radiation (1.3 pages 18-21) and completed page 21 in class.
- Completed a quiz over 1.2
- Reviewed page 21 on convection currents in the mantle in class.
- Began our discussion into the theory of Continental Drift and the evidence behind the theory.
